Barrie Attractions
Barrie continues to be one of Canada's fastest growing and dynamic cities. Its
location in proximity to the great outdoors and recreational activities promotes
an active and healthy lifestyle. Barrie manages to achieve an important balance;
with ample parkland, a beautiful waterfront and heritage downtown it maintains a
community-minded 'small town feeling', yet at the same time continues to grow
and prosper with all of today's modern conveniences, business and development.
With these benefits, Barrie is not only a wonderful place to vacation, but an
ideal spot to call home.
Orillia Attractions
Flanked by two shimmering lakes, Simcoe and Couchiching, Orillia is an oasis
located a short 90-minute drive north of Toronto. Many private vessels ripple
the waters, as does the public cruise boat, the Island Princess. The city has a
few public beaches for those wishing to wiggle their toes in the sand, one of
the finest is east of Orillia in Mara Provincial Park. The city beams with pride
over two of its past residents; international folk star Gordon Lightfoot,
whose name was given to the auditorium in the historic 1874 Orillia Opera House,
and esteemed humourist Stephen Leacock, whose summer home has become a museum in
his honour. Visitors can participate in the hands-on displays or view
interesting exhibits and artifacts at the OPP(Ontario Provincial Police) Museum.
The prospect of wealth and dazzling stage shows beckon people to
Casino-Rama, an extravagant entertainment centre.
Parry Sound Attractions
Parry Sound's vision is to be the world renowned jewel of the 30,000 Islands
on Georgian Bay. The town has the largest natural harbour on Georgian Bay and is
the birthplace of hockey legend, Bobby Orr. With many recreational activities,
Parry Sound offers something for everyone, regardless of age. Whether it's
sightseeing in your own boat or on the 30,000 Island Cruise Boat, camping or
enjoying cottage life, swimming, snorkelling, water-skiing, fishing or just
enjoying the sun on a sandy beach, when Georgian Bay is involved, you just can't
get enough! Winter time brings a whole new life of activities including
snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing, dog sledding, snowshoeing and
much more.
Midland and Penetanguishene Attractions
Situated on Georgian Bay, the Town of Midland offers an engaging blend of
culture, history, recreation and nature. Visitors are lured to Midland by the
sandy beaches, established nature areas and an array of shopping, dining and
entertainment venues. Cultural attractions include the Huronia Museum and
Huron/Ouendat Village, established to give visitors a glimpse at the proud and
prosperous aboriginal history of the region, and Castle Village, one of southern
Ontario's most unique theme parks. Another important structure is the Martyr's
Shrine, which honours the lives and deeds of Canada's first Christian
missionaries. Midland is also an entryway to a myriad of outdoor activities.
These include boating, golfing and fishing in the summer and cross-country
skiing and snowmobiling in the winter, making Midland a great year-round
destination. Midland offers a friendly, charming gateway to Georgian Bay's
picturesque 30,000 Islands, and is conveniently located only 127 km from
Toronto.
Collingwood Attractions
Collingwood is truly a gem in south central's crown. Greeting visitors with
its brick facades and tree-lined streets, this town is situated on the Southern
Georgian Bay shoreline, less than two hours north of Toronto. Home to Ontario's
largest ski destination, Blue Mountain Resort is not actually atop a mountain,
as its name suggests. Rather, the slopes are created by a scenic stretch of the
Niagara Escarpment, also responsible for Niagara Falls. Blue Mountain is home to
million-year-old caves and crevices awaiting exploration at the Scenic Caves
Nature Adventure. Rather than sand, the shores of Craigleith Provincial Park are
comprised of flat shale, some containing invertebrate fossils as old as 455
million years. In stark contrast to its other main attractions, Collingwood
lures thousands of fans to the annual Elvis Festival, the largest of its kind outside of
Memphis. Fans nosh fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches while impersonators
of The King get all shook up.
New Tecumseth Attractions
The Town of New Tecumseth is a new municipality in central Ontario drawing
together the four communities of Alliston, Beeton, Tottenham and Tecumseth.
Graced with the meandering Nottawasaga River, magnificent scenery and an
extensive history, New Tecumseth still retains its rural, small town charm.

possibilities are unlimited. Visit a museum, take a cruise, star gaze, perfect
your golf swing, harness a dog sled, slide down a snowy white hill, get up close

buds a treat or sit back on the dock in one of the famous Muskoka Chairs and
