Midland and Penetanguishene Attractions: A Haven for Tourists

 

Georgian Bay plays a significant role in the tourism industry of Midland and Penetanguishene. In Midland, the beaches beckon it visitors; and in Penetanguishene, the rich aboriginal culture explains the history of the town. Midland and Penetanguishene attractions are rich combinations of the two diverse but related cultures. In Penetanguishene, the Huronia Museum and the Huron or Ouendat Village as well as the lure of outdoor activities are an example of a Midland and Penetanguishene attractions for all seasons.

 

On summer evenings, people can enjoy the plays in King’s Wharf Theatre. For more sightseeing along the bay, boats cruises will give tourists an eyeful of the beautiful islands dotting the bay. There is no end to the lures of Midland and Penetanguishene attractions.

 

Penetanguishene was once an important trading center for furs. Tourists can enjoy the boat cruises on Muskoka-Georgian Bay, Kempenfelt Bay, and roll a dice in nearby Casino Rama. During the fall, the colors burst forth in splendor of red, green, and gold. The campsites become a veritable wonderland. Hiking and biking along the colorful trails carpeted with autumn leaves lends magic to Midland and Penetanguishene attractions along the nature and beach trails. The Awenda Provincial Park has glacier-created landforms and tourists can go canoeing along the Georgian Bay and camp in the beautiful grounds. In winter, there are snowmobiles, ice huts for rent and ice fishing.
