• Borden Public and Military Museum
  The Base Borden Military Museum is one of Canada's largest Military Museums. The Museum holds a significant collection of WWI, WWII and post war armoured vehicles, trucks, and aircraft. The Museum tells the story of Camp Borden and the various Schools, Corps and Branches that have their heritage vested at Base Borden. • Falconry Centre
  The Falconry Centre is a medieval courtyard which houses over 200 falcons, hawks, eagles, owls, and vultures. The centre was designed and built for the breeding and research of raptors, while allowing visitors the closest possible viewing. The centre's location is in the scenic rolling hills of Tottenham, and is open to visitors from June 15 to Labour day. The spectacular, "Raptors in Flight" demonstration is performed once daily at 1 pm. The centre a must see for all who admire the world of birds of prey. (905) 936-1033

 

• Nicolston Dam
  Located on the Nottawasaga River the Nicholson Dam offers some of the most picturesque camping sites you'll find anywhere.  Stroll alongside farm animals, swim in the heated pool.  Rent a canoe, kayak or paddleboat for a trip down the Nottawasaga river. (705) 435-7946

 

• South Simcoe Railway
  "All Aboard" for an exciting journey through the scenic Beeton Creek valley aboard South Simcoe Railway's historic steam train. You'll travel in restored 1920's coaches over the rails of a century-old branchline. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the steam train as you travel through the rolling countryside. Great Ways to enjoy at the New Tecumseth Attractions

 

In the county of Simcoe, south-central of Ontario, lies the town of New Tecumseth. It is a metropolis where Alliston, Tottenham, and Beeton are located. The Nottawasaga River meanders along the area – adding to the rural charm of the town. The name of the town was derived from a famous Shawnee Indian Chief, Tecumseh who fought for the British in 1813. New Tecumseth attractions are all over its four villages are located and along the Georgian and Simcoe bays.

 

In Beeton, there is architecture dating back to the 1800s. The firehall is a wood and brick structure with a hose tower. This building dates back to 1894. The Beeton Agricultural Fair grounds have six stone posts on which are inscribed the names of those who died in World War II. In Tottenham, you can ride the restored coaches that goes back to the 1920’s version. The ride will take you over the rails that once connected Hamilton with Collingwood and Barrie. As the vintage train chugs along you can view the meandering countryside.

 

The Potato Festival of Alliston is one of the New Tecumseth attractions. This is supported by civic clubs. This started in 1972, at the time Alliston was the biggest potato town of Ontario and the whole of Canada. In Tottenham, the Falconry Centre houses over 200 birds of prey. The site is a medieval courtyard and is open to visitors from June 15 to September 4. Once daily at one in the afternoon, the spectacular flight of the Raptors can be witnessed. It is an awesome sight indeed to see the Raptor falcons in a flight demonstration. This is one of the interesting and intriguing New Tecumseth attractions, which can be an educational as well as interesting experience for children.

 

The Nicolston Dam located on the Nottawasaga River offers the picturesque camping grounds. While there visitors can enjoy the presence of farm animals, go kayaking, or paddle down the river. At the South Simcoe Theatre, plays are staged as part of the entertainment in Cookstown in nearby Simcoe. These are just some of New Tecumseth’s attractions, but you can find some adventures along the way.
