Orillia Opera House - Live Theatre & Entertainment Built in 1895, and largely reconstructed in 1916 following a fire, this handsome theatre is designated an Heritage Site by the Province of Ontario. Community events, theatre, road shows and concerts are presented year-round in both the 700 seat Gordon Lightfoot Auditorium and the smaller Studio Theatre. The Opera House Green Room, with it's beautiful 18 foot ceiling, is an ideal venue for receptions, parties and meetings for up to 60 persons. The Orillia Opera House is air-conditioned, wheelchair accessible and equipped for the hearing impaired.

Sharing the borders of Lakes Simcoe and Couchiching along the Trent-Severn Waterway is Orillia. This lively community 90 minutes north of Toronto is a favourite destination all-year round. Orillia dresses up for Canada Day every July 1. People go to the Couchiching beach park to enjoy breakfast, live concerts and the handicrafts for sale. Every Saturday morning from 7:30 to 12:30 people can shop for fresh fruits, home baked products at the Orillia Farmers’ Market. This tradition dates back to 1872. The locals sold their hay, handicraft, and various farm produce. The trade flourished, and to this day the Farmers’ Market host sales and festivals. Tourists enjoy the atmosphere and the opportunity to buy home-made goodies. Orillia’s attractions range from the picturesque tree-lined streets to the breathtaking lakes.
Other mainstays of Orillia’s attractions are the museums and the boat cruises. The Orillia Museum with its picture pretty façade will entertain history buffs with artifacts from the town’s past.
